How the Extension Works

Dictionary New Tab replaces the Chrome new tab page with a vocabulary-focused dictionary experience.

To provide definitions, pronunciations, example sentences, and related word information, the extension may request data from publicly available dictionary and language APIs.

No personal user information is transmitted to these services.

Data Storage

The extension may store non-personal preferences locally on the user's device to improve the experience, such as previously viewed words or interface settings.

This information never leaves the user's device.
